Green Out Green In

The Christmas tree is gone and the whole house is so empty now.As much as I LOVE all the Christmas fuss, I actually quite enjoy the emptiness. But I do need a bit of green in my life.I’ve never been one for too many indoor plants and I’m definitely not on the Urban Jungle wagon but I do like some greenery here and there, subtle greenery that is.

I go for a few large plants in corners that can’t hold furniture or art.I also like smaller plants to dress up a shelf or to use as decoration.A tray on the table can use a small pottedHelleboresor aHyacinthright now.A shelf goes very well with a babyPileaor aCrassula.

I’m always up for learning about plants so when I discovered this cutie pie I had to have it.It’s called aSophora ‘Little Baby’or a honey tree.I got mine fromGreen Lifestyle Storewith a beautiful ceramic pot.Their collection is amazing and all their plants come with a beautiful pot, boxed up and delivered to your door. You don’t need to do anything but unwrap and find a good spot for your plant. That said;you can actually search on their website for the perfect plant for the perfect spot.I have a very dark entry hall and I wanted a large plant in the centre of the room on top of a table where we can dump stuff on.

So I browsed shadow plants and found the perfect plant. It’s aNorfolk Pineand mine comes in a grey pot and it’s just perfect, it’s like there’s a Christmas tree in the house all year round.

TheGreen Lifestyle Storeplants look extremely healthy and their collection is quite diverse. They currently have a sale going on with 10% off of all their plants and accessories.

Lovely to see your touches of greenery. Will the Norfolk Pine go into your garden when it gets bigger or is it a dwarf variety?

Hi Lorraine, It’s called Birds & Roses and it used to be printed by Cath Kidston but after she sold her company it went out of print and I don’t foresee a re-print as Cath Kidston just filed for bankruptcy. It’s all very sad.
